A leading company in the factory automation industry across the globe, OMRON announced that it will be serving the logistics sector in South-East Asia, Oceania, and Singapore with its first automation center which is launching soon. Second in Singapore, 6th in APAC, and 38th in the world, OMRON is expanding with its automation center which provides Industry 4.0 solutions.

It is one of the first solution development centers to enable the implementation of the Robotics Middleware Framework (RMF) in the logistics industry and is known as OMRON AUTOMATION CENTER SINGAPORE for Logistics. It will make complicated and heterogeneous multi-robot systems interoperable and demonstrate this (MRS). This is a crucial step toward enabling stronger and more seamless human-machine collaboration, in which mobile robots use the natural or existing infrastructure of the warehouse to carry out autonomous cargo movement (handling, moving, and storing warehouse assets) while assisting the human workforce on the shop floor.

OMRON announced that it will be serving the logistics sector in South-East Asia, Oceania, and Singapore.

The move by the company indicates a big leap for OMRON towards realizing the vision of ‘Enriching the Future for People, Industries, and the Globe by innovative-Automation’ through expanding the presence & reach of OMRON AUTOMATION CENTERS in the niche but growing industries, Mr. Junta Tsujinaga, Company President, Industrial Automation Company of OMRON Corporation, said while opening the center. The long-term strategy of the company, Shaping the Future 2030 (SF 2030), considers the complex, varied, and dynamic manufacturing environment driven by Industry 4.0 and digitization. The unique capabilities based on human-machine harmony and partnerships with like-minded organizations, OMRON believes, will enable the evolution of technologies to realize the transformation of the logistics industry to Logistics 4.0 and more, given the region’s diverse knowledge and automation maturity levels.

By tackling some of the region’s most pressing problems—such as a lack of skilled labour, a lack of available space, disruptions in the supply chain, and the urgent need to use sustainable technologies to maintain resilience while maximizing competitiveness—the center hopes to work closely with partners in the robotics and automation eco-system to accelerate the adoption of Logistics 4.0 in the Asia Pacific. It will assist in addressing the region’s growing need for warehouse automation, which is anticipated to climb over the next five years with a compound annual growth rate of over 14%, with a higher increase in both developed and emerging nations in Asia Pacific.
