To improve connectivity, the railroads are eager to construct a new high-speed rail (HSR) corridor between Mumbai and Hyderabad. There may be a bullet train from Hyderabad to Mumbai and Bengaluru. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw disclosed that the National Rail Plan (NRP), which includes Mumbai-Hyderabad, outlines seven potential routes for the construction of the high-speed rail network.

The NRP suggests a 709-kilometer bullet train network between Mumbai and Hyderabad, according to a Time of India report. The source claims that preliminary planning to look into the viability of the enormous project, which is anticipated to be finished by 2051, has already begun.

Hyderabad is anticipated to have bullet train service to Bengaluru by 2041, while a network connecting Chennai to Bengaluru through Mysuru is also being planned for 2051, according to the HSR master plan in the NRP. The Mumbai-Hyderabad High-Speed Rail (MHHSR) Bullet Train project, according to Metro Rail Guy, will link Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad via 11 stops in Maharashtra and Telangana for a yet-to- be-determined cost.

Currently, the Japanese government is working with the Centre on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail project and providing technical and financial support. Delhi-Varanasi, Delhi-Ahmedabad, Delhi-Amritsar, Mumbai-Nagpur, Chennai-Mysuru, and Varanasi-Howrah are among the other seven rail networks.

Hyderabad is anticipated to have bullet train service to Bengaluru by 2041.

The Government of India has proposed five new high-speed rail lines for construction starting in October 2020. These are the first four of the high-speed rail routes. In 2009, the Mumbai Ahmedabad High- Speed Rail Project was first mentioned. In her Vision 2020 project, former railway minister Mamata Banerjee promoted the idea.

Dr. Manmohan Singh, a former prime minister, had visions of the initiative in 2013. In this year, an agreement was signed between India and Japan to jointly research the possibility of building a route between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. In 2017, the foundation for India’s first bullet train between Mumbai and Ahmedabad was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Japanese President Shinzo Abe.

India’s first bullet train would be introduced by the Mumbai Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Project (MAHSR), also referred to as the Bullet Train Project. From Ahmedabad to Mumbai, the train will travel 500 kilometres (310 miles). The 500 km route is currently travelled in 8 hours; it will now take 3 hours.
