The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority has placed boards with QR codes in public areas to engage the locals in shaping Chennai’s future and to get their opinions on developing the third master plan. The residents must scan the code and respond to 14 inquiries. The Tamil Nadu chief minister urged people to participate in the survey in a tweet. For the Chennai Metropolitan Area, the paper will be used to plan for a sustainable environment, a growing economy, and an inclusive, all-encompassing development.

Initial public meetings were held in 29 zones throughout the Chennai metropolitan area by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority, which had hired a consultant. The CMDA minister instructed officials to speak with the public directly after it didn’t receive the necessary response. Government officials have since organised public vision survey campaigns. The CMDA member secretary and other authorities, according to the minister, ran an awareness campaign on the visioning exercise on Sunday near the Labor Statue on Marina Beach.

The CMDA has been working on creating the vision document for the past four months. The government wants complete public involvement in the program, and we seek locals’ opinions in designing the city for them. We currently have 17,000 responses, and we anticipate at least 50,000 responses. The question is broken down into several categories, including housing type, leisure activities, quality of life, financial and investment attractiveness, and how people envision the future metropolis. They deal with concerns including fixing infrastructure, reducing traffic, and providing basic amenities like urban development, housing, new town development, the environment, and cleaning up the city, among other things.
