A global shipping and logistics company, UPS is growing its network of technology centres in India, and its first centre of UPS will come up in Chennai this year. The company has taken a space spanning 65,000 square ft at RMZ One Paramount in Porur, Chennai. UPS EVP and chief digital & technology officer, Bala Subramanian said that UPS firm is making an investment of between USD 15-20 million to grow its network of technology centres in India. Chennai is a key market for UPS firms. This facility will commence operations in August 2023 and will have the capacity to accommodate around 450 to 500 employees.

According to V.Vishnu, chief executive officer and managing director of Guidance Tamil Nadu, a nodal organisation that plays a key role in drawing investments into the state, we would also aid them in enhancing the talent pool in the region, particularly the youth in the rural areas.

The presence of the UPS company in India is growing quickly. With the opening of a second dedicated airport gateway in Bangalore last year, UPS expanded its network. UPS has increased its capacity for handling exports and imports thanks to the addition of its largest facility in India at the Delhi airport. In partnership with InterGlobe Enterprises, UPS firm also introduced MOVIN Express for the domestic logistics sector in India. MOVIN Express has grown to cover 49 cities and 3000 pin codes in India in less than a year.
