Goa Industrial Development Corporation Gets Rs19 Cr Under PM Gati Shakti Program

The Goa IDC (Industrial Development Corporation) will use the Rs19 cr, which is obtained from the PM Gati Shakti Program for Goa to develop phase 4 of the Verna industrial estate. According to the source, the funding will be used to build roads, enhance the supply of electricity and water, and improve other facilities at the industrial park. The funds have been approved by the DPIIT (Department For Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade).

Goa had also sought financing to construct the Latambarcem industrial estate, however, the existing allocation is insufficient. However, the amount we received was only Rs 19 crore, and if the programme is continued, additional money will be obtained. She added that Goa had created a GIS-based state master plan with 99 data layers that will be utilised for holistic infrastructure planning in the state.

Further, she added that “The state has already mapped up to ninety layers by taking Gujarat as an example. They have mapped out a total of ninety-nine layers, including thirty-two of the thirty-three layers which is required and were mapped on the state GIS protocol. These data layers that are mapped on the portal are part of the state master plan and can be used for any sort of planning. In order to ensure, every department will verify the data that has been mapped so that their data is reliable.

Department For Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade has identified thirty data layers such as land records, economic zones, wildlife, forests, power, road, revenue, soil points and other data points, which should be included in the state masterplans and the NMP (National Master Plan) platform.
