Karnatak University will provide graduate-level logistics courses with financial aid and skill development

In order to provide degree and post-graduate courses, as well as a stipend along with skill training, the Logistic Skill Council and the Karnatak University, sited in Dharwad, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). On Saturday, a formal MoU signing ceremony was place at Karnatak University. Along with this, the university also signed an MoU with Avasar Society of the Opportunity Foundation Trust, a Bengaluru-based organisation, for the purpose of offering and providing training and job opportunities in the logistics sector to applicants who have failed SSLC or PU exams as well as those who have not finished their degree programmes as yet.

On Saturday, agreements were signed between Anand Chaturvedi of the Avasar Society and K.B. Gudasi, vice chancellor of Karnatak University, C. Krishnamurthy, registrar (evaluation), and S. Ganeshan, chief of the logistic skill council. After the signing of the MOUs between the two parties, Prof. Gudasi made a statement in front of media reporters mentioning that the university also has agreements in place with JSS Education Society of Suttur Mutt for speech and hearing rehabilitation as well as with Bangur College in Dandeli for the paper and pulp industry.

According to Prof. Gudasi, the university has also signed an MoU with Suttur Mutt’s JSS Education Society.

Prof. Gudasi stated that the institution will begin offering BBA and B.Com courses in logistics beginning of this academic year, citing the expansion of the logistics industry and the abundance of work prospects there. He added that a logistics-focused MBA degree would also be added. In addition to this, the university would offer skill training to students who have finished II PU but have not enrolled in higher education.

According to Prof. Gudasi, the university has also signed an MoU with Suttur Mutt’s JSS Education Society for speech and hearing therapy as well as with Bangur College in Dandeli for the paper and pulp industry. Prof. Gudasi also noted that the institution will soon launch BBA and B.Com courses in logistics that will be beginning this academic year, referring to the expansion in the industry and the abundance of work prospects there. In addition, he mentioned that the educational division will also introduce an MBA course in logistics. According to Prof. Gudasi, 150 individuals who enrol in the course once the MoU is signed, would get stipends each year along with skill development for a range of jobs in the logistics industry.

 

The university also signed an MoU with Avasar Society of the Opportunity Foundation Trust, a Bengaluru-based organisation.

The entirety of NEP-2020 will be covered in three-year logistics courses, according to Prof. Ganeshan. The first two years will be dedicated entirely to classroom sessions, and the third year of the course will be spent training students in logistics firms while they get a monthly stipend of 15,000 rupees. The university lecturer also revealed that more than 100 businesses in India will offer training. The society has set aside 5 crore for training, according to Mr Anand Chaturvedi, who stated that college dropouts can select logistics as their career.
