After the notable success of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) platform, the Indian government has decided to take a step forward in this plan and come up with similar model plans that will help to widen the scope of good governance that will be driven by tech. Ashwini Vaishnav, who is the union minister of Electronics and IT has stated that the government is planning to create more such UPI platforms for sectors like education, agriculture, and more.

To make this happen, the centre was initially teaming up with the National Digital Health Mission, which will help to assist in the planning of the areas of education, agriculture and logistics along with others. These would be created and made democratic so that anyone may use them. The purpose of developing such platforms, according to the minister, is to employ technology in a way that emulates the achievements of UPI, Jan Dhan bank accounts, and digital Direct Benefit Transfer programmes, among others.

The minister for communications and railways noted that it is a significant step toward creating a sustainable society.

The minister also added that the government led by the Prime Minister of India has created great governance by keeping the citizens of the country in the centre and building everything around them. These include the technologies, processes, schemes, systems, and all the evolutions to encourage and empower the common man, in order to make sure all their necessities reach them without any hassle and interference of corruption in a transparent way. The main goal of the government’s plan is to expand the use of the good governance model across many industries. The union minister noted that the fundamental building blocks are in place and added that the National Digital Health Program is performing exceptionally well in the enormous industry of healthcare.

In that, the government will be creating the platform and everyone else will be joining it, it will be similar to UPI. Using distributive law, the logistics, agricultural, and educational sectors will all experience phenomenal growth. The government was able to roll out and implement the Covid-19 vaccination programme at such short notice due to the effective use of such a platform. In just one year and 10 months, the CoWIN platform of the government allowed 219 crore vaccines. Even today, the minister said, large, powerful, wealthy nations struggle with their vaccination programmes.

These include the technologies, processes, schemes, systems, and all the evolutions to encourage and empower the common man.

Apart from the IT industry, technology has also helped the government to come up with better government approaches. 1,500 outdated, pointless laws that had no bearing on the sector’s operations have been repealed. The minister for communications and railways noted that it is a significant step toward creating a society that is sustainable, growth-oriented, and transforms the lives of the average person in a lasting way.

There are currently 450 million people. According to Jan Dhan, 1.35 billion persons in the nation have an Aadhaar digital identification.
