PM Narendra Modi launches Rs.75k Crore Infra Project in Nagpur

PM Narendra Modi launched an Rs. 75000 Crore infrastructure Project in Nagpur on Sunday and said that this has been possible due to the efforts of the double-engine government.

PM Modi addressed the public gathering after inaugurating the longest operational expressway in the country, Samruddhi Mahamarg, which covers 520km distance and connects Nagpur and Shirdi.

This expressway is expected to reduce travel time between Nagpur and Mumbai from sixteen hours to eight hours and Nagpur-Shirdi (Phase-1) stretch takes 5 hours to cover.

PM Modi inaugurated the longest operational expressway in the country, Samruddhi Mahamarg, which covers 520km distance and connects Nagpur and Shirdi.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari among others, were present at the inauguration ceremony of the Samruddhi Mahamarg Expressway.

This expressway has been officially named Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg.

According to MSRDC (Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation), the remaining 181 km will be completed by July 2023, thereby completing the entire 701km between Nagpur and Mumbai. MSRDC is the implementing authority of the expressway.

This expressway has been officially named Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg.

This expressway will have 73 flyovers and viaducts, about 52 are ready. Similarly, there will be 32 big bridges, out of which 31 are ready, and out of these 8 will be rail overbridges and 6 are ready. There will be 317 small bridges, out of which 308 are ready.

PM Modi will flag off Vande Bharat Express (run between Nagpur-Bilaspur) at Nagpur railway station, this is the 6th Vande Bharat Express flagged off by PM Narendra Modi. He dedicated the Nagpur Metro Phase-I to the nation and laid the foundation stone of Phase-II of the Nagpur Metro.

PM Modi also took a ride on the Nagpur metro from Freedom Park to Khapri Metro Station and interacts with students during his ride on Nagpur Metro.

PM Modi inaugurates the AIIMS Nagpur with state-of-the-art facilities and addressed a public meeting at the AIIMS located in the city’s MIHAN area, after dedicating various development projects in Nagpur. He said “This is a very special day for Maharashtra and a bouquet of development projects is being launched from Nagpur that will transform the people’s lives.

In Vidarbha city during the public function, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched and inaugurate railway projects of more than Rs.1500 Crore and laid the foundation stone of the NIO (National Institute of One Health) Nagpur, and the Nag River pollution abatement project, which is also in Nagpur.

PM Modi inaugurated the Centre for Research, Management, and Control of Hemoglobinopathies, Chandrapur, and dedicated the CIPET (Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology, Chandrapur to the nation.

CM of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde said the expressway is a game changer and green corridor that has taken care of wildlife movement.

Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that he is proud to be associated with the establishment of MSRDC.

During the program, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that plan is ready for the laying of the expressway Nagpur-Goa via Marathwada and the modernization of Nagpur Airport in the immediate future.

Deputy CM Fadnavis also thanked the PMO (Prime Minister’s office) for the speedy disposal of files related to several projects in Maharashtra. Further, he added, the land has been kept reserved for laying railway lines for running semi-high speed freight trains Nagpur-Mumbai, which will reduce the traveling time.
