Shippigo Acquired by Logistics Start-up Emiza To enhance Technology And Shipping Capabilities

India-based Emiza, a supply chain, and warehousing start-up has completed the acquisition of Shippigo, an online shipping platform. The amount of acquisition has been kept confidential. Founded by Ajay Rao in the year 2015, Emiza is known for its warehousing and fulfilment services to its customer both online and offline. The company has made its presence in the logistics and shipping sector and currently, it is providing its solutions as the third-party logistics partner to over 150 Direct-to-consumer (D2C) and Business-to-business (B2B) companies in the country.

According to Emiza, the acquisition of Shippigo will enable the company to speed up the potential of the company’s technology and shipping services by integrating its platform with the technology of Shippigo. This amalgamation of capabilities of both companies will help to smooth the operations of the supply chain process right from warehousing to delivery of the cargo. Currently, the start-up is managing over 17 warehousing facilities in 18 cities in India. Multichannel logistics and omnichannel logistics services are also one of the company’s expertise.

The founder and CEO of Emiza, Ajay Rao said that the company has been relentlessly working towards incorporating technology with its potential services in order to level up offerings provided by the company. The company is extremely delighted to have integrated the advanced and tech-smart solutions of Shippigo with its already existing operations. The tech solutions of Shippigo will help Emiza to provide their customers with better and enhanced services with other extended features and benefits involved in the fulfilment journey from the production site to the client.

Emiza has recently raised a capital value of INR 37.5 Crore in its Series B funding round that took place in May. The funding was raised from Mayfield India and JM Financial Private Equity. Before this, the company also secured the value of $4.5 million from Nishant Rao from Freshdesk, Dileep Nath from Aroha Pvt Ltd, and Mayfield.

The co-founder and CTO of Shippigo, Nitish Gupta shared that with this partnership with Emiza, Shippigo is aiming to build an indomitable collaboration with warehousing, technology, fulfillment, and last-mile delivery. This collaboration will bring about a hassle-free and friction-free shipping zone for consumer brands that will enable them to ship their products to customers with ease. He also added that the result of this integration between technology and warehousing will boost the market in the shipment sector.

With this partnership with Emiza, Shippigo is aiming to build an indomitable collaboration with warehousing, technology, fulfillment, and last-mile delivery.

The shipment system offered by Shippigo, the start-up founded by Saurabh Jaitly and Nitish Gupta, allows e-commerce businesses to combine their website along with the shopping cart, import the shipping information and then process the shipments for delivery to the end customer. This operation will enable the company to even initiate the shipping on an international level immediately. The company also provides a host for monitoring the delivery with other customer-appealing tools that helps with two-way interaction between the customer and the shipper. The main aim of the company is to make the processes of shipping smooth in the D2C and B2B sectors.

Lately, a lot of funding and acquisitions have taken place in the logistics industry of India which is poised to reach $380 billion by the year 2025 at a CAGR of 12%.
