According to the release, Keppel Logistics is headquartered in Singapore and employs close to 500 people. The aim to improve the B2B industry is the right one as it will help the company massively

In a statement that was released by Geodis, President and CEO of the Asia-pacific region, Onno Boots said that, “This is truly a significant step in our continued expansion in Asia-Pacific and will certainly take our digital omnichannel capabilities to the next level, ensuring that we can go above and beyond to support our customers in responding to the growing e-Commerce opportunity, even in today’s complex supply chain ecosystem.” Geodis purchased Keppel Logistics primarily in order to expand its B2B and B2C e-commerce offerings to customers. “End-to-end logistical solutions, including warehousing, last-mile delivery, and proprietary software centralising inventory across numerous channels.” As vice president of business development and supply chain optimization for Geodis at the time, Brian Reed told PYMNTS in April 2020 that one effect of the COVID pandemic was that logistics companies learned a lot during the worst times, including the value of technologies that once might have seemed like luxuries.

Through this acquistion, the real benefit is for the customers who can be happy with the improved service

This has been a great acquisition by Geodis as they have analysed the opportunity in the B2B and B2C industry. Through this acquisition, it would be a win-win situation for both company and the customer as the company will generate profits and the customers will benefit with better service in all departments.
