After inaugurating the Logistics Parks at Batasingaram and Mangalpally in Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) had announced that it would construct 10 Logistics Parks with ORR.
Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) plans to set up more logistic parks in cold storages. In 2019 HMDA had an announcement that after inaugurating one logistics park each at Batasingaram and Mangalapally in Hyderabad they will build 10 more logistics parts along the Outer Ring Road (ORR) but from since that time this proposal remained unexecuted. Batasingaram and Mangalapally Logistics Parks were created on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode to provide freight related facilities keeping in view the location and strategic advantages of Hyderabad.
The parks were to provide efficient logistics management and serve as regional hubs and integrated one-stop facilities for freight operators, third party logistics (3PL) service providers, cargo handling companies, truck drivers, warehouses and parking lots. Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development K.T. Rama Rao has inaugurated Mangalapally Logistics Park in 2019, that time Rama Rao said it can provide parking for 250 trucks, warehousing, automobile service centre, fuel station, cold storage, primary health centre, dormitories and restaurants. He said it would provide direct employment to 800-1,000 persons and indirect employment to another 2,000.

He said, “This is the first of 10 logistics parks planned around ORR”. Subsequently, HMDA officials said that as per the Comprehensive Transport Study (CTS), HMDA has proposed to build Logistics Park and Inter-City Bus Terminal (ICBT) in PPP mode at Miyapur, Pedda Amberpet, Shamshabad, Shamirpet, Patancheru and Manoharabad. Later, an official said that HMDA has invited Request for Proposal (RFP) for appointment of a transaction consultant to formulate the project requirements and to conceptualise. Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP company was selected as transaction adviser.
The RFP for selection of developers was to prepared within four months but the project has not started yet since then. According to the information when it was asked about the status of the project, a senior HMDA official said that he is not allowed to talk to press persons, as per the written instructions of higher authorities. The official said he could neither disclose the status of the project nor comment on it.
