For illegal extraction and transportation of minerals Police arrests 5 persons, seizes 5 vehicles in Budgam

Recently in Budgam of Jammu & Kashmir Police have arrested 05 persons and seized 05 vehicles for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals. According to the report acting on reliable information, officers from Police Station Beerwah at the checkpoint established at Mulshulla crossing intercepted 05 vehicles (Tippers) bearing registration numbers JKO5B-3354, JK14B-8115, JKO4C-3941, JK01T-3181 and JK03A-1808 involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from government land. Further all the vehicles have been seized on the spot and 05 persons have also been arrested.

They have been identified as Bashir Ahmad Malik son of Ghulam Mohd Malik Resident of Dadina Budgam, Firdous Ahmad Gabor son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Budgam, Danish Ahmad Baba son of Showkat Ahmad resident of Qadipora Budgam, Ashiq Hussain Yatoo son of Mohd Akbar resident of Sholipora & Mohammad Yousuf Mir son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din resident of Waterwani Budgam. They have been shifted to the Police Station where they remain in custody. Accordingly, a Case vide FIR No. 01/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Beerwah and further investigation has been initiated.

Police requests the people not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is a violation of Government rules. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
